What Will my Child Learn?
Christian Character
Jesus is at the forefront of KinderSprout. We will learn how to live like Him by focusing on the fruits of the spirit, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23). Each month (September - June) we will focus on one fruit of the spirit, except for September, which will focus on the theme of friendship.
School Readiness Skills
We learn about our emotions, how to play and communicate with one another, and how to process sensory stimulation. Your child will gain and practice their executive functioning and social skills.
Academic Skills
We will meet your child where he/she is at, focusing on literacy, numeracy, fine and gross motor skills. We will look to the Alberta Kindergarten Program of Studies to help guide our teaching, as well as the Alberta Early Learning “Flight” curriculum.
Meet the Educators
The KinderSprout team is made up of a passionate, educated, Christian group of women. We have a mix of full-time, part-time and student educators. All of our certified Early Childhood Educators also have their First Aid & CPR certification.

Early Childhood Educator, Level 2
Assistant Program SupervisorHey! I’m Melissa! I have been in the early childhood education field for over 10 years. I have also been a children’s and youth Pastor as well as worked in Foster Care when I was living in Calgary. I am happy to call Central Alberta home and be back living with my family. I enjoy embroidery, going to the mountains, and going on the occasional adventure around the world.
I am so excited to be with the KinderSprout team full-time and work towards my level 3!

Early Childhood Educator, Level 3
Hello! I'm Shannon and I'm thrilled to be joining as an ECE at KinderSprout Playschool.
I've been working in this field for the past 13 years. I've worked in a variety of early learning settings, as well as I was the owner and operator of a Preschool in Kelowna, BC for 5 years prior to our move to Red Deer two and a half years ago.
My husband and I have been married for 15 years and have two awesome kids, ages 12 and 10. During our family time, you'll find us on our acreage in Camrose County. We love the balance we get between our wonderful life in the city and the laid back summers on our rural acreage.
Working with children has brought so much joy in my life. I truly believe that each child has their own unique, God-given gifts and abilities. It's such a blessing to have the opportunity to witness, experience, and help guide children through some of their most formative years.
I'm grateful for this next step at KinderSprout Playschool and am looking forward to being a part of the team!

Early Childhood Educator, Level 2 (Student)
Hello! I'm Tessalee, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the wonderful community of KinderSprout.
After high school, my journey started at Millar College of the Bible where my interest in teaching peaked while taking a children’s ministry course. I deepened my relationship with God and expanded my Biblical knowledge.
I’m in my third year of education at Red Deer Polytechnic, a year away from being a certified teacher. Before joining KinderSprout, I wore multiple hats as an assistant camp director/office administrator at Camp Silversides and dedicated five years as a nanny.
Beyond academics, you'll often find me curled up with a book or being creative by drawing while listening to an audiobook.
Working with children has always been a passion of mine, and I feel truly blessed to teach while sharing the love of God with each child. I look forward to contributing to the growth and development of your child at KinderSprout.

Early Childhood Educator, Level 2
Hello! My name is Aggie Ezetennadi and I am looking forward to starting with Kindersprout Playschool. I am the oldest of 11 children, so I have always been around children and just kind of gravitated in that direction. I have taught Sunday school, as well as volunteerd in the nursery at church. I used to run a day home for many years in Lethbridge, and then also in Red Deer when I moved here in 2013. I have my level 2, and worked in a different daycare for four and half years before starting with KinderSprout.
I was born in Ontario, moved to Mexico when I was about 8, lived there for 4 years, and then moved to Alberta in 1994. I have been here ever since.
I have a 12-year-old daughter and 3 beautiful step-children that just fill my heart. I am excited to get the opportunity to work in a faith-based daycare. It is a passion of mine to be able to teach children that they are loved by God.

Early Childhood Educator, Level 3
Hello! My name is Jeanette Martel and I am thrilled to be at KinderSprout!
I received my Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in 2013 and I have been teaching and working with children since then. My husband and I were born and raised in Red Deer and now are raising our 4 kids here too. Our family likes to spend time in God's creation exploring, hiking and camping together! We attend First Christian Reformed Church here in Red Deer and enjoy being a part of many ministries there.
I absolutely love working with children and believe it is what God created me to do. I love the creativity and curiosity children have and enjoy helping them discover, learn, and use their imagination! Every child is unique and "wonderfully made" and I feel blessed to get to work with the wonderful children here and be a part of the KinderSprout team!

Early Childhood Educator, Level 1
Hello! My name is Lucilene Castro, and I am happy to introduce myself as an educator with a deep passion for early childhood education. Originally from the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I moved to Brasília, our nation’s capital, at the age of 16. In 2024, my husband received a job offer as a Chef at a Brazilian Steakhouse here in Red Deer, prompting our family to relocate to this welcoming community.
We are blessed with two wonderful children: A teenaged daughter and young son. Our transition to this charming city has been exciting, as we have experienced immense hospitality and warmth from everyone we have met.
With a 4 years Bachelor's degree in Art Education, I have dedicated over 20 years to the field of education (as a teacher and pedagogical coordinator), fostering creativity and critical thinking in my students. In addition to my professional endeavors, I have served as a pianist at my church in Brazil and volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for children for many years, nurturing their spiritual and personal growth. Since our arrival in Canada, our family has gathered at Crossroads Church, where we continue to deepen our faith and community bonds.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my experience and passion to the KinderSprout community, ensuring that every child feels valued, inspired, and loved. I am also incredibly happy to be part of this amazing team!
